Youth Entrepreneurs for Ecological Alternative project

Moving Forward Together (MFT) and the Swiss Academy for Development (SA4D) together with the field partner Saung Saee successfully implemented the Youth Entrepreneurs for Ecological Alternative project. The three-year project was implemented in the Shan and Kachin regions of northern Myanmar.

As part of the project, 132 young people received basic business knowledge training, which they used to create numerous micro-businesses, social enterprise startups, and a cooperative that provides services to other agro-based youth cooperatives. A further 164 young people received sustainable agricultural training as well as technical assistance and value chain development support. The program also provided agriculture input, technical assistance and market access to youth cooperatives and youth-led businesses.

It developed manuals on agriculture and basic business knowledge, which proved helpful to the participants. These materials facilitate the learning needs of the participants as they work with the mentors to achieve their goals. The program partners believe that these manuals and our educational videos are useful for individuals interested in agro-based business as well as other types of business.

The program partners wish to make the materials available to individuals outside of the program. With this in mind, we have made it accessible through the partner organizations’ online platforms. The materials are available in the Myanmar, Kachin, Shan and Kayin languages. We hope you find the educational materials helpful and enjoyable.
